History

There’s been a Casella looking into Augusta’s eyes since 1948. The first was Dr. Victor Casella, who opened the family’s Broad Street practice after serving his country in World War II. He was joined by his son, Thomas, in 1978 who, in turn, was joined by his son, Ben, in 2008. Built on the foundation of a historic Broad Street theater, the Casella Eye Center is more than a family practice, it’s a downtown tradition, and the Drs. Casella see themselves as more than just a means of attaining proper eye care. With each patient they meet and treat, they are celebrating the ties that bind in the community. At least that’s the way they see it.
